This Bayswater renovation was a carefully balanced transformation—modernising an early 1900s villa to suit the needs of a growing family, while preserving the timeless charm that gives these homes their character. Despite the scale of the renovation, original features were retained and, where needed, thoughtfully rebuilt to maintain the home’s heritage appeal.
The project included a significant two-storey extension, designed to add both space and functionality. This new addition created a second living area and an extra bedroom, giving the family more room to spread out without compromising the home’s traditional proportions.
Scope of work included:
- Two-storey extension with additional living space and bedroom
- Reconfiguration of an existing bedroom
- New deck area for improved outdoor flow
- Main bathroom renovation
- Kitchen renovation with updated finishes and layout
- Laundry renovation to complete the upgrade
This renovation is a great example of how Cain Built blends old and new—bringing heritage homes up to modern standards while celebrating their unique architectural details.
